Giving tech giants a platform to be more innovative
Global technology firm, Google, worked with Spacefinish to design and build its first-ever Developer Space in Africa.
The Google Developer Space is a hub for African developers, entrepreneurs, and startups from 17 African countries, namely: Algeria, Botswana, Cameroon, Côte D’Ivoire, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.
Even though this space is located in Lagos, Nigeria, we designed it to feel like home for all of Africa.

Alternate workspaces that keep you fit.
We all know the feeling of being stuck in a rut at work. You sit in the same cubicle day after day, staring at the same computer screen, unable to focus on your tasks. Maybe it's time to switch things up and try working in an alternate workspace. And no, we don't mean going to the coffee shop down the street. We're talking about turning your office into an all-out cycling studio!
Bridging the gap between food and community
As the saying goes, "There's no place like home." But what about the office? For many of us, the office is a second home, where we spend most of our waking hours. And just like our actual homes, the office can be a place where we build community. A work cafe is one way to create community in the workplace. By bringing food and work together, we create a space where people can interact and collaborate.
The Google innovation lab is one example of how this can be done. By providing a space for engineers to connect, the lab has fostered a community of creativity and innovation. As we design for the future of work, we need to remember the importance of community.
The light box
This is the lightbox, an elevated steel box structure that acts as the brain of the building. We designed this room to be where the most critical brainstorming sessions in the building happen. Our designers intend for this to also be the room where the most brilliant ideas are born in the Google Innovation Lab. But beware, it can be a bit of a zoo in there!

Google worked with Spacefinish to design and build its first-ever Launchpad office in Africa. The design theme focused on major innovative milestones through the history of Africa. The Launchpad space is designed to inspire the startups who would occupy the space to achieve more.
